Anti-Fa Celebrating in Tampa after Hillsborough County Reversed "Keep Monument" Vote
The members and friends of Save Southern Heritage FL heartily commend the Lakeland City Commissioners for canceling the planned meeting to discuss the shameful removal of the Munn Park War Memorial. We now call on them to take the next logical step and drop any future discussion of removing the Memorial. "The voters of Lakeland spoke [in the Voter poll] and they do not want the memorial removed. Furthermore, they believe it is disrespectful to veterans even discussing the possibility" said Save Southern Heritage FL spokesman, David McCallister. "This is a good first step. They closed the door but now they need to bolt it shut. The protesters will come - you don't know when or where - but they will come - so long as they think they can intimidate or influence the Commissioners into digging up a sacred relic and chucking it anywhere but in plain sight," McCallister said. The Poll showed four out of five Lakelanders believe it is disrespectful to discuss the issue. Brooksville didn't cave to pressure, Pensacola didn't, and Lakeland can stand strong, too" McCallister said. Around the State these professional protesters have cost the taxpayers tens of thousand of dollars and created safety concerns by importing their hate. In Manatee County, "Indivisible" and Black Lives Matter threatened numerous un-announced protests and the 'take down' Commissioner cautioned of a "Ferguson", intimidating the Commission took down their historic War Memorial. The Sheriff spent approx. $30,000 to control the first protest, and the Commission caved in and under cover of darkness removed their Memorial, resulting in it being dropped and broken into three parts. Black Lives Matter - Hollywood imported their hate to Hillsborough County, and posed with pictures of Anti-Fa after the Commission was intimidated into reversing its previous to keep their historical memorial this summer. "What Malless and Selvege can't understand is that what they've been told about the monument and its reason for being there is poppycock" said HK Edgerton, past president of the NAACP in Asheville, NC. "That monument is a testament to the love between all colors and creeds of Southerners - red, yellow, black and white, and they just hate that we get along" he added. "They come down South here and tell us we're racists and hate each other and that the monument signifies that hate. It's just flat wrong" he added.

"I am a veteran and I'll stand up for other veterans for their service. Their honor and valor should not be disrespected by carting their memorial off to a cemetery, and I might add - look at West Palm Beach - these memorials aren't safe there either" Edgerton said. Edgerton has attended two Commission meetings over the last two years, the last one, he gave information about the role of Black Confederates to all the Commissioners, but Commissioner Selvege threw it back in his face. "Oh, boy, oh, boy! He didn't want to know about that - not one bit" Edgerton added. "I hope they do the right thing...I don't want to have to come back down to Lakeland and give the Commission another talking to" he added. "We really don't see this much differently than the attacks on nativity scenes, and Ten Commandment displays, prayer in schools or at high school football games. They don't respect tradition, and don't understand how it benefits us to honor it - agree with it or not - it is how we learn" McCallister concluded.
SAVE SOUTHERN HERITAGE Inc. is a not for profit corporation that educates & advocates on behalf of Southern Heritage & History. It was started in 2015 in response to the knee-jerk Anti-Southern institutionalized bullying and “Erase-ism” levied against the people of South Carolina by Governor Nikki Haley, after she broke all previous agreements about how South Carolina’s historical veterans and their symbols should be treated and respected. SSH FL does not condone racism and as such we do not support any group or person that does. We respect the rights and privileges of all as bestowed on them by their creator and expect those in our association to respect and treat others as they themselves would wish to be treated. The Florida branch was activated in mid-January 2016, in response to three initiatives in the Florida Legislature that are part of a hate campaign led by Anti-American extremists, who refuse to respect the various cultures that make up the fabric of Florida’s society. Since that time, it has grown in membership and has been active in Heritage battles throughout Florida including the “We'll Remember in November Campaign” that resulted in #heritagehater candidates to lose elections in Florida.
