Answering D. Henry
D. Henry recently asked us:
If someone were to ask you “what is noble about what we are doing how would you respond, other than it’s our Heritage?”, which persuades virtually no one anymore. Please advise. Thanks.
In Re the question from D. Henry: my first response is always:
What would convince you that the cause is noble?”
Do you have an open mind or is your mind closed to all arguments?
Here are some suggestions off the top of my head:
• Would it be statistical - as in there are some 75 million descendants of Confederate Veterans who need to learn about their ancestors, their courage and sacrifices- things not taught in schools (see Gen. Cleburne's predictions).
• Would it be personal - as in the Soldiers of the South - casualties and survivors alike, are my kinfolk, and family comes first (don't insult my family)
• Would it be Biblical (Christian and Jewish)- as in the Commandment to Honor thy Father and Mother, as well as the admonitions in Proverbs to not remove the ancient landmarks of your fathers (anent monuments).
• Would it be political - as in the cause of the CSA was self-determination and Constitutional government, not central dictatorship and creeping Marxism/Communism. (see Xi Van Fleet).
• Would it be historical/literary- as setting the record straight with accurate history and depictions (see Orwell's "1984" - the Memory Hole to control the past so as to control the future) also countering the propaganda and fallacies of agitating works like Uncle Tom's Cabin.
• Would it be sociological - as in it is noble to fight for our ethnic identity as Indigenous Southern Americans, who should be a protected class against ethnic cleansing by the Wokesters, Virtue Signalers and Yankees (see H.B. Stowe on Florida replacement).
