Confederate Memorial Day: The Lies the Media Tell
If Confederate Memorial Day Goes, Is Memorial Day Next?
April 26th is observed in Florida as Confederate Memorial Day. From the southern tip to the western end and points in between, Floridians, with family members who perished in America’s most costly war, marked the observance with prayers and floral tributes. Wreaths were placed at memorial sites and colorful ceremonies were held with patriotic and solemn music.
The day marks the sacrifice of more than 5000 Floridians and tens of thousands more from other states who perished defending Florida and the Southern confederacy from a tyrannical armed invasion with the objective being plunder and political domination.
But the mainstream media fueled with Southern Poverty Law Center's malicious and divisive talking points can’t accept Confederate Memorial Day for the simplicity of what it is….one day every year to remember and mourn the dead.
For example, the USA Today network’s “Florida Today’s” coverage of the observance is biased from the second sentence. No one is ‘celebrating’ Confederate Memorial Day. Honoring the dead is NOT a celebration. What misguided, ghoulish soul considers a memorial to the dead a celebration?
And then the old tactic of repeating gossip was used to further discredit the sincere efforts to grieve and honor patriotic sacrifice. Citing unnamed ‘historians’ who attribute the formalization of Confederate Memorial Day in Southern states as an effort to ‘downplay(Ing) the evils of slavery, creating Jim Crow laws’. What, exactly, do "Jim Crow" laws, which incidentally began in the low-melanin per capita North, have to do with memorializing dead family members?
Sadly, based on social media comments on the article's post, the mainstream media brainwashing is working. Few critical thinkers in the bunch. Consider if the headline read "Saturday is Holocaust Remembrance Day. Why does Florida still celebrate it?” Imagine the outrage from the ACLU, the Anti-Defamation League and others. But the mainstream media, key participants in the efforts to vilify American war dead keep beating the drum of lies, hate and division.
Did the mainstream media cover the keynote speech of past NAACP Chapter President HK Edgerton, on the Capitol steps at Montgomery, Alabama in that state’s Confederate Memorial Day observance yesterday? No. Not one word! That would go against the narrative.

Many cautioned, in the early phase of the revolution marked by the destruction and removal of historic monuments and memorials, beginning with Southern war memorials, that they were just 'low-hanging fruit' in the war on America. No one liked to hear 'I told you so' but the evidence is clear: Missionaries, Presidents like George Washington, Abraham Lincoln and even patriotic singer Kate Smith have suffered the same fate as Southern memorials targeted first. If it is old and bronze, it has to go
Even America's most somber and artistic memorial to reconciliation after America’s fratricidal war between North and South, marking war dead at Arlington National Cemetery, wasn’t safe from the cultural revolution that was triggered by the Southern Poverty Law Center and its accomplices at Charleston.
If this were a news report instead of a propaganda piece, it would have mentioned that Memorial Day, which is observed in May, is an outgrowth of the practices adopted by Southern women who ensured soldiers’ graves, many in locales far from home, were tended at least once a year. The Union veterans were so moved by these Southern observances that they inspired the Federal holiday for the Union dead’s memorialization - Memorial Day.
If the purge continues, perhaps Memorial Day observances will be the next casualty in the Marxist culture war on America.
