About the Program:

Ron will explain why the first chapter of his book about Reconstruction is titled “What Could

Have Been,” explain the reason for calling the War “Lincoln’s War,” provide a comparison and contrast between the struggle under the heel of Yankee tyranny during Radical Reconstruction in Florida and her sister Southern States, provide a brief overview of the time frames for Active, Passive, and Modern-Day Reconstruction, and describe the five strategic failures made by the South before the War, during the War, the almost 100 years after the War, and today.

About the Speaker

Ron Kennedy was born and raised in south-central Mississippi. In 1974, he moved to Louisiana, where he now resides. Ron received a Master’s in Health Administration (MHA) from Tulane University in New Orleans, a Master of Jurisprudence in Health Law (MJ) from Loyola University Chicago, and a Bachelor’s degree from Northeast Louisiana University.

He retired in April 2015 after serving over 20 years as Vice President of Risk Management for a Louisiana-based insurance company.

Ron and his twin brother Donnie are the authors of the bestselling book The South Was Right! which has sold more than 150,000 copies, the third updated edition was released in November 2020. The Kennedy Twins have co-authored numerous other books, including: Jefferson Davis: High Road to Emancipation and Constitutional Government; Punished with Poverty—the Suffering South; Yankee Empire: Aggressive Abroad and Despotic at Home, and edited/ annotated A View of the Constitution: Secession as Taught at West Point by Judge William Rawle, the first textbook on the Constitution used at West Point.

Ron’s most recent books are Reconstruction: Destroying the Republic and Creating an Empire, Dixie Rising—Rules for Rebels, When Rebel Was Cool, Red State Red County Secession, Be Ye Separate-Bible Belt Revival or Marxist Revolution, and Nullifying Federal and State Gun Control.

Ron is the past Commander of the Louisiana Division Sons of Confederate Veterans. He is the former Chief of Heritage Operations for the National Sons of Confederate Veterans, currently the editor of the Confederate Legion Newsletter, and is the Chairman of the SCV’s 21st Century

Confederate Heroes campaign. He is a highly sought-out speaker for Southern Heritage and patriotic events.
