WES BELLAMY BROUGHT IT TO CHARLOTTESVILLE LES MILLER BROUGHT IT TO TAMPA
Tampa - Yesterday, descendants of American Veterans were horrified to see blood red paint splattered on the names of their family members in a private Veterans Memorial park in Tampa. Overnight Saturday night, vandals attacked the memorials of privately owned Confederate Veteran Memorial Park. The park had not been vandalized since its dedication in 2009, but since the discussion about removing Confederate Memorials began in Tampa, the private memorial site has been vandalized twice. "This is a slap in the face to all Americans" said David McCallister, Save Southern Heritage - FL ("SSH - FL") spokesman. "Its shocking to see the desecration of this memorial but its a punch in the gut to see it in person" he added. McCallister has two family member veterans whose names are etched in the large granite blocks that were left dripping in blood colored paint when the vandalisms was discovered. By multiple Acts of Congress, Confederate Veterans, memorialzed in the private park, are American Veterans and are to be accorded the same benefits of all other American veterans. This came on the heels of the violence in Charlottesville, VA that eruped when Anti-FA and Black Lives Matter protesters were given free reign to attack permitted protesters of the City of Charlottesville's decision to take down a memorial to beloved American hero, Robert E. Lee. In Chrlottesville, Vice Mayor Wes Bellamy led this initiative, and here in Hillsborough County, Les Miller followed suit. "The lawlessness we saw in Charlottesville has come to Tampa Bay. Wes Bellamy brought that hate and ugliness to Charlottesville and Les Miller brought it here" McCallister said. "I hold Les Millere responsible" McCallister added. "The path to peace is mutual respect of all diverse groups you can't go around disrespecting peoplee and not expect a backlash" McCallister said. Currently the County Commission has decided to send the Tampa Memoria in Aeterna to a private cemetery, some commissioners believing they will be 'safe' there. "This shows that these thugs don't care where the memorials are - they will desecrate them even on private property. The safest place for our precious veterans' observce is right were it is - out in the public under the watchful eye of law enforcement" McCallister concluded. SAVE SOUTHERN HERITAGE Inc. is a 501 c(4) public welfare corporation that educates & advocates on behalf of Southern Heritage & History. It was started in 2015 in response to the knee-jerk Anti-Southern institutionalized bullying and “Erase-ism” levied against the people of South Carolina by Governor Nikki Haley, after she broke all previous agreements about how South Carolina’s historical veterans and their symbols should be treated and respected.
